Litter police fined man for 'spitting out leaf'

Roy Marsh, 86, was hit with a £250 fine after an incident in Skegness, Lincolnshire, earlier this year. The story emerged after Adrian Findley, a county councillor, said he had received a number of complaints about similar "heavy handed" incidents in the seaside resort. East Lindsey District Council (ELDC) said enforcement teams, who work on behalf of the authority, would "only approach individuals who have been seen committing environmental crime offences". Popular Scottish comedian Kevin Bridges will bring his new show to P&J Live for two dates in Aberdeen next year. The Clydebank-born comedian will take to the stage at the arena on December 11 and 12, 2026, as part of his “Here If You Need Me” tour. One of the UK’s most successful stand-ups, he last performed in Aberdeen for his Overdue Catch-Up in 2022. As a result of these shows, he became the highest-selling act ever at P&J Live. He was also in Granite City for his “Brand New Tour” in 2018 and “A Whole Different Story” three years prior to this at the old AECC. Meta Tech shares drop 9% despite earnings beat as company takes one time tax charge

Shares dropped as much as 9% on Wednesday after the company reported third-quarter earnings that beat on sales, but it also reported a $15.93 billion one-time tax charge. Here’s how the company did, compared with estimates from analysts polled by LSEG: Earnings per share : $7.25 adj. vs. $6.69 estimated Revenue : $51.24 billion vs. $49.41 billion estimated Meta said that the implementation of President Donald Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill Act resulted in a one-time, non-cash income tax charge. The company said it expects Trump’s law to result in “a significant reduction” in its U.S. federal cash tax payments for the rest of 2025 and future years. The company’s third-quarter sales rose 26% year-over-year, which is its highest revenue growth since the first quarter of 2024. Meta said it expects fourth-quarter revenue to be in the range of $56 billion to $59 billion.
